Quiz night

THE restoration and development committee of St Paul’s Church, Royton, is holding a quiz night from 7.30pm tomorrow in the parish centre. Tickets are £3.50.
POLICE are holding a public Justice-Seen Justice-Done meeting from 6.30-8pm at Shaw Youth Club, Chapel Street, on Monday.
EIGHT pianists — pupils of Mr Glenday, from Shaw — passed Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music exams. They were: Poppy Danby, grade 8 (merit); Oliver Lamb, grade 8 (merit); Louise Goodwin, grade 6 (distinction); Toby Butt, grade 6 (distinction); Hannah Chappell, grade 6 (merit); Ria Saraf grade 5; Charlie Hetherington, grade 3 and Stan Scott, grade 1 (distinction).
CRAFTS, jewellery, knitted goods and home-baked goods are on offer at Dr Kershaw’s autumn bring-and-buy sale, held at the Royton hospice, from 10am-1pm on Saturday, September 17.
CALLING all fruit tree owners! St Paul’s Church in Royton is looking for people to make jams or preserves to donate for a Christmas fair on Saturday, November 19. If you can help, contact Marjorie Ashmore at the church.
ROYTON Local History Society is holding its first meeting of the season, including a talk about the history of folk music, at Downey House, Church Street, from 7.30pm on Monday.
WARD councillors and council officers will have a stall on Royton market on Thursday, September 22 to answer and question about the new proposals for parking in Royton town centre.
