Talented Terry dies at 73

A GIFTED musician, who entertained thousands throughout his life has died aged 73.
Royton grandfather Terry Mills, who started working for the Oldham Metropolitan Amateur Operatic Society (OMAOS) 48 years ago, died peacefully on April 23.
He leaves behind wife Sheila, children Kathryn, Michael and Elizabeth and 12 grandchildren.
The former police officer starred in and directed hundreds of musical shows, including “Desert Song”, “Fiddler on the Roof” and “Student Prince”.
Mr Mills was also a choirmaster at SS Aidan and Oswald Church, Royton, for 17 years.
The OMAOS - originally St Patrick’s AODS - was formed in 1962 and presented its first show “Student Prince” a year later.
Mr Mills’ funeral will take place SS Aiden and Oswald RC Church in Royton on Thursday at 10.30am.
