DOM Collins, No Regrets, Johnny Boy and Leah Nation are among the acts performing in aid of the Oldham Distress Fund. The event, which includes an auction, takes place on Sunday, from 2pm, at the Greyhound Inn, Royton.



FOOD logistics company Bid Vest raised £1,000 at a charity raffle during its awards evening for the Oldham Distress Fund — set up to help victims of the Shaw explosion.



A TABLE-TOP and craft sale is taking place at Shaw United Reformed Church in Rochdale Road from 9.30am-12.30pm on Saturday. Tables (£8) must be booked in advance on 01706-844 899 and entry is free.



BLOOD donors are required for sessions at Royton Trinity Methodist Church from 1.15-3.30pm and 5.15-7.30pm tomorrow.



VOLUNTEERS who were gunged in custard at The Rifle Range pub helped raise £901 for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice. The event was organised by local fund-raiser Rob Cottrill and landlady Adele Taylor.



CROMPTON House School is holding a summer fair in aid of its Ecuador Expedition on Saturday, 11am-2pm. Pupils are selling draw tickets to raise funds for the event.



CATHERINE Holmes (28) is having her head shaved in memory of her uncle Ian, who died at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice. The event takes place at the Coach and Horses in Market Street, Shaw, from 7pm on Friday, July 20. Anyone interested in sponsoring Catherine or donating a prize can call at the Coach and Horses pub.



JOHN Alexander — otherwise known as the Second Rochdale Cowboy — is holding a charity evening of country and western music tomorrow. The event takes place at St Andrew’s Church in High Crompton from 7.30pm. Coffee, cake and various stalls will also be on offer in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
