AN evening with popular Radio Manchester presenter Allan Beswick aims to raise funds for the Oldham Distress Fund.
Tickets, priced £10, for the event at Playhouse2 in Shaw, which starts at 8pm on Saturday, July 21, are available from Interiors on Market Street. Every penny to the fund.
A SINGING event and auction at the Greyhound Inn, Royton, raised a staggering £7,000 for the Oldham Distress Fund.
CATHERINE Holmes (28) is having her head shaved in memory of her uncle Ian, who died at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice. The event takes place at the Coach and Horses in Market Street, Shaw, from 7pm on Friday, July 20. Anyone interested in sponsoring Catherine or donating a prize can call at the Coach and Horses pub.
CROMPTON House School is holding a fancy-dress film in aid of its trip to Ecuador. Tickets are £4 for the showing of “Sister Act 2” at Playhouse 2 in Shaw — costumes welcome! The film starts at 8pm tomorrow.
A COMEDY and curry night at St Anne’s Rugby Club in Royton is raising money to send a student to Ecuador. Lauren White, from Crompton House School, is holding the event at 7pm on Friday, July 20. Tickets are £10 per head. Call 07901-555 830.
A CHARITY cricket match in aid of the Oldham Distress Fund between High Crompton Conservative Club and Cartshaft takes place on Sunday, July 29, at 11am. Entry is £2. There will also be a raffle. Anyone who can donate prizes can contact organiser Daniel Flanagan on 07595-268 511.
MUSIC in the Park takes place at Dunwood Park from 11am-3pm on Saturday, July 21.
ROYTON, Shaw and Crompton District Partnership meets at Royton Youth Club from 6pm on Tuesday, July 17.
