104 Hilda’s party bash

ONE of the borough’s oldest residents was celebrating her 104th birthday in style this afternoon.
Sprightly Hilda Wright was putting on her favourite frock and dancing shoes, for a party with 30 close friends and family, as well as a performance by favourite local singer, Brian Flood.
Daughter, Freda, who lives near her mum in Royton, said: “She likes getting up and having a boogie! Her favourite things are socialising and dancing.”
Hilda, who lives at Edgehill Residential Care Home, made headlines on her 102nd birthday when she celebrated by revving the engine of a racing bike. The MotoGP fan, grew up in Pembroke Street, off Union Street West.
