ONE of the borough’s oldest residents was celebrating her 104th birthday in style this afternoon.
Sprightly Hilda Wright was putting on her favourite frock and dancing shoes, for a party with 30 close friends and family, as well as a performance by favourite local singer, Brian Flood.
Daughter, Freda, who lives near her mum in Royton, said: “She likes getting up and having a boogie! Her favourite things are socialising and dancing.”
Hilda, who lives at Edgehill Residential Care Home, made headlines on her 102nd birthday when she celebrated by revving the engine of a racing bike. The MotoGP fan, grew up in Pembroke Street, off Union Street West.
