ROYTON’S Moravian Church is hosting a Favourite Hymns Festival Service from 3pm on Sunday.
DR KERSHAW’S Hospice is holding a farmers’ market with cake, jewellery and soap stalls galore. It takes place from 10am on Sunday, October 21.
TO raise money for its organ-restoration appeal, St Paul’s Church in Shaw, has secured the services of Donald McKenzie, organist at the Odeon on London’s Leicester Square, to accompany the showing of silent movies in the church on Friday, October 19. Tickets are £10 for adults and £6 for children, with a hot supper included in the price. Call 0161-624 9188.
COME and share stories and rhymes for the under-fives at Crompton Library. Hourly sessions, which help promote reading in children, start at 9.45am but there is no need to book.
AN evening of light entertainment including a potato-pie supper in aid of the building fund of St Mark’s Church, Heyside. The event, which takes place at the church, features music and a quiz, from 7.30pm on Saturday. Tickets are £7 from 07976-900 894.
A COMMUNITY pop choir runs at Royton Youth Centre on Monday nights from 7-9pm. There are no auditions and you don’t need to be able to read music to join the 50-strong group.
CHURCHES Together in Royton is hosting an evening of songs, stories and a hot supper at Trinity Methodist Church from 7.30pm on Friday, October 26. Donations will be collected on the night towards the Ashram Leprosy Village Project in India.
A POLICE surgery is being held from 9.30-10.30am on Thursday, October 18, at Shaw Library in Farrow Street.
