IT’S better to give than to receive, say local youngsters as they help vulnerable children around the world.
Operation Christmas Child sees pupils at schools across Oldham fill shoeboxes with toys, toiletries and clothes. These are then sent to needy children across the globe.
Since the project — which is run by Christian charity Samaritan’s Purse — started in 1990, more than 94 million underprivileged children have benefited.
Last year, around 1.1 million boxes were sent to Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
