ROYTON Real Food Market takes place on Sunday from 11am. Get down to the precinct for some local food and other bargains.
OLDHAM Chronicle staff raised £125 for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice by holding a charity Christmas raffle.
TAKE your unwanted gifts to Dr Kershaw’s Hospice in Turf Lane between 10am and 2pm on January 20. The charity needs prizes for tombolas and raffles for various fund-raisers throughout the year.
HELP manage the woodlands on Crompton Moor and a get a free lunch for your efforts. Oldham Council’s parks team and Groundwork will be meeting at 10.30am on January 13, at Brushes Clough car park. The aim will be to plant new trees with tools provided.
CROMPTON House School students from the class of 1979 are holding a school reunion from 8pm on Saturday. The Seventies-themed event takes place at The Cartshaft Working Men’s Club, St Marygate, Shaw. Admission is £5 per person. Contact Debi Hawkins for more information on 01756- 791 840.
HEAR about Sir Thomas Tyldesley — one of the finest knights in England and about his involvement in the English civil wars, at Royton Local History Society’s meeting, Downey House, from 7.30pm on January 14.
OLDHAM St Anne’s ARLFC under-12s have presented a cheque of £370 to Dr Kershaw’s Hospice. The amount was raised during various activities, over the last 12 months by the youngsters.
TAKE part in a sponsored zumbathon at Jagers Dance in Dowry Street, from 11am-1pm on Sunday. All cash will benefit Dr Kershaw’s Hospice in Royton. Just pick up a sponsor form and raise a minimum of £20.
