Friends concert

THE Royal Oldham Hospital League of Friends is raising cash at a concert by Mid Life Crisis.


The event will be held from 8pm on Saturday, March 16 at Tara Leisure Centre in Shaw. Tickets are available from Rose on 0161-652 1049 or pay on the door.


AS part of National Chip Week, fire crews will be attending Asda Shaw on Monday doing demonstrations at 11am and 2pm, to raise awareness of the dangers of chip pan fires.


SHAW Salvation Army is hosting the Women’s World Day of Prayer from 2pm on Friday, March 1. The theme is France and “I was a stranger and you welcomed me.” Everyone welcome.


SIGN up for a table top and craft sale on Saturday, March 2, at the United Reformed Church, Rochdale Road, Shaw, 9.30am-12.30pm. Free entry. Tables £8, book in advance. 01706 844 899.


POP Choir is meeting at Royton Youth Centre from 7pm on Monday.


A FAIRTRADE stall of grocery produce is being held during a craft morning at Trinity Methodist Church from 9am-noon on Thursday, March 7.


CROMPTON Library is hosting a stories and rhyme time event from 9.45am tomorrow. The sessions are for the under 5s.


THE Knit and Natter group at St Anne's Church, Royton is in need of spare double knitting wool. The team, which meets in the church, is making blankets for the premature baby unit at Royal Oldham Hospital.


GET help with your homework and free access to books at Royton Library's special sessions. They run on Wednesdays from 3.30 to 4.30pm and are suitable for primary school children.
