Break-ins alert

POLICE are urging residents to stay alert after burglaries in Hindle Drive and Varney Road on the weekend of Aug 31-Sep 1.
In both incidents offenders entered the homes, took keys and stole the car. Residents are being advised to ensure valuables and keys are hidden from view.
ROYTON Townswomen’s Guild can look forward to a talk by Geoff Scargill, entitled “I never left school”. Visitors and members are welcome for £1 entry, from 7.30pm tomorrow at Royton Town Hall. Refreshments available.
A FUNDAY in aid of the Make a Wish Foundation and Bury Hospice is taking place on Saturday at Heyside Cricket Club, Royton, from noon-4pm. There will be inflatables, zorbing, trampolines, tombolas and live music. To hire a stall contact 0161-455 3665.
