CHAT with your local councillors and officers at the Royton District Executive meeting and community forum this evening.


Taking place at Royton Youth Centre, Chapel Street, from 6pm, the meetings are a chance for the public to raise concerns about the local area.


MUSIC from Kershaw’s Crooners will be entertaining Royton Townswomen’s Guild on Tuesday, November 12, at Royton Town Hall. Patients, volunteers and staff from the hospice will be singing from 7.30pm. Entrance for members and visitors costs £1.


A COFFEE morning on Saturday will be raising money for St James Thornham Church in Royton from 10am to noon. Entrance costs £1 with coffee and biscuits provided.


THE Alan Bracewell Big Band and Potato Pie Supper Night will be taking place at The Oddies, Union Street on Thursday, November 14. Tickets cost £7 and money raised will go towards Marie Curie Cancer Care. Call Dorothy Holt on 0161-626 4466 for more information.


PHOENIX school of martial arts, based at The Old Mill, Shepherd Street, are offering a free month’s training to all junior students aged 7-14 in November. For more information contact Mark Doyle on 07462773898.


PARENTS, families an loved ones who have lost children are invited to a memorial service on Sunday, November 10, at St Anne’s CE Church, Royton. Oldham Bereavement Support Services’ annual child-loss memorial service is a chance to remember babies and children who have died or been lost. The service, which is for all faiths, will take place at 2pm.


A NEW group is hoping to improve the garden at St Paul’s Church and will be meeting at Downey House on November 7 at 7pm to discuss the issue.


ROYTON local history society will be hosting a special talk about bread entitled “The Staff of Life” with David Tomlinson on November 11.
The event will feature samples as the retired technical director of Warburton’s discusses the history of the business at Downey House, Church Street, from 7.30pm.

Entrance is free for society members or £1.50 for visitors including refreshments.
