Workers’ reunion

FORMER employees of Crane Fruehauf Trailers, Royton, are invited to a reunion on Friday, January 31, to share memories and good times.
The event will take place from 7.30pm at the Blue Tiffin Restaurant, Higginshaw Lane, the previous Fruehauf site.
ROYTON Townswomen’s Guild will be hearing from Barbara and Addie Redmond on Tuesday as they detail their Namibian experience. The talk and film event will take place at Royton Town Hall at 7.30pm. Admission, including refreshments, costs £1 for members or £2 visitors.
COME along to the Royton District Executive meeting and Community Forum on Monday, January 20, at 6pm. Taking place at Royton Youth Centre on Chapel Street, the meeting is a chance to discuss local issues and concerns with ward councillors and representatives.
THE impressive history of Jodrell Bank will be discussed at Royton Local History Society tonight. Professor Ian Morison will be telling the telescope’s story at Downey House, Royton, from 7.30pm. Society members go free with entrance for visitors, including refreshments, costing £1.50.
ANYONE with unwanted Christmas presents is being urged to visit Dr Kershaw’s Hospice on Sunday, January 19, and donate the gifts. The hospice, which will be open from 10am until 2pm, will then be able to use the items in future tombolas, raffles and hampers to raise money for the charity.
A PLANNING application has been received to create a two-storey side extension at 57 Blackshaw Lane, Royton.
SING for charity and join Kershaw’s Crooners, the hospice choir, for rehearsals every Tuesday. Head down to the hospice on Turf Lane, Royton, between 4.15 and 5.15pm.
