ROYTON Townswomen’s Guild will hear from Richard Wimpenny as he gives a talk, “The Causes of WW1”, at Royton Town Hall on September 9 (7.30pm).

OLDHAM Community Adult Pop Choir will host taster sessions today and on Monday, September 15 for anyone looking to join. The choir meets 7- 9pm every Monday during term-time at St Mark’s Church Hall, Heyside. There are no auditions. A HOMEWATCH meeting will take place at Oddfellows Social Club, Union Street, Royton, on Thursday, September 18 from 7 to 8pm.
ST Anne’s Church will be hosting its annual sports day on Sunday, 14, from 10am. There will be events for all ages and anyone who would like to take part or help out should sign up in the church.
ROYTON Local History Society will hear from David Cooper tonight in a talk about the Royton Cricket Club team which won its first Central Lancashire League title 1n 1914. The talk takes place at Downey House, Church Street, from 7.30pm.
HELP save a life and give blood at Royton Trinity Methodist Church, Radcliffe Street, Royton, from 1.15 to 3.30pm or from 5.15 to 7.30pm on Friday, September 19.
Dr Kershaw’s Ladies Day, on Friday, September 19, is free to all women who have been affected by cancer, either through diagnosis or knowing someone with cancer. There will be hair styling, make-up makeovers and a nail bar open from 11am to 3pm.
