THE Rotary Club of Crompton and Royton will be hosting an evening of songs and entertainment from well-known musicals at St Anne’s Church, Royton, on Friday, from 7.30pm, with money raised going to Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.

WOMEN’S World Day of Prayer will be celebrated at Trinity Methodist Church, Royton, on Friday. The subject of the event, which starts at 2pm, will be “Jesus said to them ‘Do you know what I have done to you’”. All are welcome and entrance is free.
UK Electronics has submitted and application for a two storey side extension at its premises in Schofield House, Lion Mill Yard, Fitton Street, Royton. Rowland House, a grade II listed building attached to Schofield House, will not be affected by the proposals.
THE story of the River Mersey will be discussed at Royton Local History Society’s meeting on Monday, March 9, at Downey House, Church Street, Royton from 7.30pm. The guest speaker will be Gordon Speakman.
