LEARN more about “The Last Laugh of the Railway King” as Geoff Scargill gives a talk at Royton Local History Society tonight.
The talk takes place at Downey House, Church Street, from 7.30.
ROYTON Townswomen’s Guild will hear from Mike Gurney tomorrow night as he gives a talk entitled “Beyond the Curtain”. The talk takes place at 7.30 at Royton Town Hall. Entrance costs £2 for members, £3 for visitors including refreshments.
THE first meeting of Royton’s new Royal British Legion will take place at Royton Cricket Club on Thursday. The meeting, from 7pm for a 7.30pm start, is open to everyone.
GREEN-FINGERED volunteers are needed for the St Anne’s Church Gardening Day on Saturday. Anyone who can spare some time to help keep the Royton church’s gardens tidy is welcome to come along from 9.30am.
TAKE on a challenge for Dr Kershaw’s by signing up for this year’s Hospice to Hospice Walk on April 24. The walk takes participants from Dr Kershaw’s Hospice in Royton to Springhill Hospice in Rochdale and back. Registration, costing £7, is now open online at www.drkershawshospice.org.uk
