Civic pair to host appeal fund-raiser
Date published: 03 May 2011
THE mayor and mayoress of Oldham, Councillor David Jones and his wife Jean are hosting a family party at the Oldham Rugby League Club headquarters, Whitebank Road, Hollinwood.
The party, on May 13, is to raise money for the Mayor’s charity appeal fund, this year supporting RNLI, the ACE Centre, which provides the latest communication technology to help severely handicapped people communicate; and the local diabetes centre in Oldham.
Although the proceeds of the event are going to the Mayor’s Charity, the main idea behind it is to have a local and affordable event for those who could not afford the likes of the Mayor’s Ball.
The party will include entertainment and prizes and tickets are £3 for adults and £1 for children.
Tickets are available from Contour Housing Association office, First Avenue, Regenda Housing Group, St Chad’s Centre or from Sarah Furbey on 07985-538 229.
