CELEBRATE Chadderton Day in Foxdenton Park from noon to 4pm on Saturday. Attractions include football, rugby, a fire engine, hedgehogs, a gardening stall and children’s activities with Oldham Play Action Group.

ENJOY a ramble around Streetbridge tomorrow with Chadderton Historical Society. Meet at the Victoria Street car park at 7.15pm to arrange transport, or Mill Brow car park at 7.30pm.

ST Mark’s Church, Milne Street, holds its summer fair from 2 to 4pm on Saturday. Attractions include Caribbean food, tombola, bottle stall and jewellery. Admission 50p.

TEAMS of four from businesses around Oldham can take part in the Oldham TRY-athlon at Chadderton Wellbeing Centre, Burnley Street, on Sunday, July 17. Each team will have to complete a 1.2km swim, a 20km bike ride and a 5km run between them. For details contact Kate Harcus on 0161-624 1444.



STOCKBROOK Children’s Centre, Albion Street, has a baby weigh-in and health information drop-in from 9.30am to noon on Wednesdays. There is also a baby bistro for mums who are breastfeeding or thinking about breastfeeding from 10am to 11.30am.

MILLS Hill Baptist Church has a sisterhood from 2pm on Wednesday afternoons for people who like more traditional worship. Each meeting includes rousing hymns, an inspiring preacher and prayer.



CHILDREN can grow herbs and vegetables and learn how to make tasty meals at Stanley Road Children’s Centre, Derby Street.
