Garage sale

BAG a bargain at a garage sale at 56 Haigh Lane, Chadderton, from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, July 30. Bric-a-brac, books, a cake stall and tombola and refreshments. Admission £1.50 in aid of Cancer Research UK Chadderton and Oldham Committee.

PARENTS have been presented with certificates by Oldham Athletic chief executive Alan Hardy after going back to school. They completed maths and English courses run by Oldham College at Whitegate End Primary School.



SEVEN to 11-year-olds can take part in a multi-sports course at St Herbert’s Learning Centre. The week-long course starts on August 8 with two professional football coaches. It runs from 10am to 3pm each day for £8 per day. To book, contact Bridget Bennett on 0161-633 1318.



WANT to ditch the fags? Holly Grove Children’s Centre has smoking cessation sessions from 5 to 7pm on Tuesdays. The centre also has digging for health sessions from 1.30 to 3pm on the same day for people who want to learn more about growing their own fruit and vegetables.
