Allotments show

CATCH the displays at the Fernhurst Allotments Annual Flower and Vegetables Show on Saturday and Sunday. Attractions include Chadderton Brass band and an auction.


OLDHAM Stammerers Group holds its fortnightly meeting tomorrow at Chadderton Court, Middleton Road, from 6pm to 7pm. Anyone with a stammer is invited to attend. For information call Patrick on 07878-944 562.



EIGHT to 16-year-olds can take part in football, netball, cricket, basketball and dodgeball — as well as more unusual sports — in free sessions at Bare Trees School, Holly Grove. Activities take place on the synthetic pitch from 12.30 to 2.30pm on Saturdays until October 22.



EVERYONE is welcome at the Marie Curie Cancer Care Oldham Support Group’s annual meeting. It takes place at North Chadderton Social and Bowling Club on Wednesday, September 21, 7.30pm.

Cancer Aid Network meets on the first and third Tuesday of the month at South Chadderton Methodist Church, Thompson Lane, from 4 to 6pm. It is an opportunity for people who are affected by cancer can meet others.



TUCK into tasty treats at St Herbert’s Parish Centre, Broadway, from 9am to noon on Friday, September 23. It is taking part in the annual Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of the cancer charity.
