FORMER Manchester United and England star Paul Scholes will be the star attraction at the Chadderton Christmas lights switch on and fireworks display at 6.30pm on Friday.
The fun starts at noon with a Christmas market, ice rink bans and choirs in Chadderton Precinct.
The Oldham branch of Marie Curie Cancer Care is holding a fundraising quiz and silent auction at North Chadderton Social and Bowling Club, Broadway, at 7.30pm tomorrow. Tickets are £5, including supper, with a maximum of six per team. Contact Dorothy Holt on 0161-626 4466.
CHADDERTON North councillors Barbara Brownridge and Dave Houle are holding a surgery at Flat 1, Penzance Place, from 11am to noon on Saturday. People can also raise concerns with the three Chadderton South councillors at Washbrook Community Centre, Nelson Way, from 11am to noon on Saturday.

A 24-hour bus clearway, which prohibits other vehicles stopping at any time, is being introduced in Chadderton Hall Road, close to the junction of Haigh Lane.
