Plenty to do at learning centre

A range of courses and activities for adults and children start at St Herbert’s Learning Centre from February 20.
On Mondays, from 6.30 to 8pm, there’s chess for seven to 16-year-olds. £1.50; Tuesdays, from 7.30 to 9pm, adult choir, £3; Wednesdays, from 9 to 10am, parent and toddler club, £1 per family with toast and drinks.
On Thursdays there is street dance for four to 11-year-olds, from 5.45 to 6.30pm, £3; basic sign language awareness for adults 6.15 to 7.15pm, £4; Zumba for adults, 6.30 to 7.15pm, £3.50; and an art club for four to 11-year-olds, 6.30 to 7.15pm, £1.

A BEACON will be lit at Chadderton Heights on June 4 to mark the Queen’s diamond jubilee.
It will be part of a chain of beacons which will be lit as part of the celebrations.
OASIS Academy Oldham is holdings its GCSE presentation evening tomorrow. Simultaneous events will take place at its two campuses in Butterworth Lane, Chadderton, and Roman Road, Hollinwood.
The Oldham Tinkers are playing at St Herbert’s Parish Centre, Broadway, at 8pm on May 25. Tickets cost £12.50 in aid of West End Bowling Club, Coppice, and include a meat and potato pie supper. Contact Neil Baldwin on 0161- 620 3193.
THE next Chadderton District Partnership meeting takes place at Chadderton Town Hall at 7.15pm on March 20.
CHILDREN can enjoy stories and songs with Sally Tonge at Chadderton Wellbeing Centre, Burnley Street, from 1.15 to 12.15pm on February 19. The event is free and there is no need to book.
