PHOTOGRAPHS of two abandoned villages will be shown to members of Oldham Photographic Society at their meeting tomorrow.



They will find out more about the German massacre of Oradour-sur-Glane in France during the Second World War and the forced repatriation of Greeks from Kayakoy in Turkey in 1923. New members are welcome at The Blue Club, Victoria Street from 7pm for a 7.30pm start.



CHILDREN have no excuse for being bored this half term. Free daily sports activities for eight to 16-year-olds run until Friday at the Granby Street games area from 1 to 3pm.



PLANNING applications have been submitted for extensions at 59 Fold Green, 15 Lynton Close, 9 Ravenside Park and 27 Higher House Close.



Musical Friends will perform popular favourites, including numbers from West End shows, at St Herbert’s Parish Centre, Broadway, Chadderton, on Friday. The event has been organised by the Woman of Oldham committee. Tickets and details are available from Janet Larton on 0161-652 8878.



THE ROC centre in Kent Avenue, Crossley, holds a free dance and drama workshop for eight to 20-year-olds from 5 to 6pm on Thursdays.



MORE new activities for adults are starting at St Herbert’s Learning Centre, Edward Street. There is conversational French from 1 to 2.30pm on Mondays and Strictly Come Dancing from 7.30 to 9pm on Wednesdays, both £4. For information, call Bridget Bennett on 0161- 633 1318.
