Wading in to prevent flooding

HOMES and businesses in Chadderton will benefit from better flood protection.

Work is underway to fit a debris screen at Spring Brook on Foxdenton Lane opposite Springs Road, to prevent an underground river getting blocked by litter and flooding.

In the past such screens have been difficult to maintain, but the work will allow staff to keep them in better condition. There will also be landscaping improvements and replanting of trees. The work should be complete by the end of April.
