RELIEVED dancers no longer have cause to feel blue as the future of a Chadderton troupe is looking rosy.
The show will go on for The Blue Crew, who regularly perform on the pitch at Latics, as they’ve secured a new home for rehearsals.
Sisters Alison Slater and Wendy Noble, who run the not-for-profit venture together, faced an agonising hunt for a new home when the Little Cot social club in Chadderton closed in December.
After a two-month break the dancers are back in the groove with Tuesday sessions for five to 11-year-olds at the Hunt Lane Tavern in Chadderton.
The North Chadderton Social Bowling Club in Broadway will be their main base, where the rest of the groups will meet each Thursday and the crew will stage shows and carnivals.
Alison said: “We have lost some of the children because of the break but most have stuck with us.
“We were upset at the time, we’d been at the Little Cot since we started 11 years ago and leaving was sad for many of the children.
“We all missed each other, and coming back together was like a big reunion.”
The dance champs scooped six awards at the National Streetcheer Championships last year, but despite that they aim to focus more on doing good in the community.
