Date published: 07 August 2012
MORE than 300 people have been caught in Chadderton in a blitz on drivers and passengers — including children — not wearing seatbelts.
A total of 61 fixed penalties were issued outside schools and another 243 in surrounding areas.
Seven people were also fined for stopping on Keep Clear markings outside schools.
The seven-day operation was part of a police “Dicing with Death” campaign, which followed an increase in road deaths across the region in 2011.
