FAMILIES can celebrate National Heritage Week by making flags at Chadderton library, Burnley Lane. Drop-in between 1.30 and 7.30pm on Wednesday next week.
The town’s historical society will also be conducting tours of Chadderton Cemetery, Middleton Road, at 10am and 3pm on Saturday, September 8, as well as giving illustrated talks throughout September 9 at Chadderton Town Hall to celebrate the building’s centenary.
FORMER South Chadderton School pupils can catch up at a reunion at the Boat and Horses, Broadway, from 7.30pm on Friday.

CHADDERTON and Failsworth Rotary Club has commissioned the floral display at the corner of Broadway and Middleton Road to celebrate its 50th anniversary and as part of the borough’s Britain in Bloom entry.
CHILDREN will enjoy making models out of junk at a free summer holiday session in the Mona Road playground from 1 to 3pm tomorrow. Under 8s must be accompanied by an adult.
A COMMUNITY project is appealing for volunteers to dig deep and help transform an unadopted road into allotments. People who want to get involved in the New Fields Allotment in Ramsay Street should contact Susan Jones on 0161-284 1483.
BOOKWORMS can get together at the reading group at Chadderton Library, Burnley Street, from 2 to 3pm on Wednesday, September 12. It meets on the second Wednesday of each month.
