AN archaeological dig takes place at the site of the former Chadderton Hall, Chadderton Hall Park, from next Monday to September 22.

THE Houghton Weavers are playing at St Herbert’s Parish Centre, Broadway, at 8pm on September 21. Tickets costs £12.50, including meat and potato pie supper, from Neil Baldwin on 0161-620 3193.
WORRIED about your finances? Chadderton Wellbeing Centre, Burnley Lane, holds a free money advice session every second Monday of the month, from 5 to 7pm. The next one takes place on Monday, September 10. The Citizens Advice Bureau also holds free sessions at the library from 9.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30 to 4pm on Tuesdays.
MEMBERS of Chadderton Historical society are visiting Rossendale Museum tomorrow. The museum is housed in a former mill owner’s residence and has social and natural history galleries. Meet at Victoria Street car park at 6.45pm to arrange transport.
THE Rev Jean Hurlston, from Oldham’s town centre chaplaincy, will be the guest speaker at the Chadderton Home Watch meeting next Tuesday, September 11. She will talk about the Street Angels scheme which looks after the welfare of revellers in the town centre. All are welcome at Chadderton Wellbeing Centre, Burnley street, at 7.30pm.
RAISE concerns at the coffee with a copper police surgery at Flat 16, Lansdowne Court, from 11am to noon next Tuesday, September 11.
ST Matthew’s Church is holding a family fun day at St Matthew’s Field, Mill Brow, from 1 to 4pm on Saturday.
