Dig open day

THE archaeological dig in Chadderton Hall Park ends with an open day, 10am-4pm on Saturday. There will be guided tours, artefacts will be on display and people will be able to chat to a family-history expert.
GET into shape with extreme circuit sessions at Radclyffe Athletics Centre, Hunt Lane, 8- 8.45pm on Thursdays. The cost is £4.30, free for OCL members.
NEW knit-and-natter sessions take place at Chadderton Library, Burnley Street, 2-3pm on the first and third Wednesday of the month. The library cafe also holds a chat and choose session for people who are looking for inspiration about what to read, 2-4pm on Thursdays. Both sessions are free.
FANCY getting outdoors? Take part in a five-mile walk from the Pavilion Cafe, Chadderton Hall Park, on Saturdays, from 10am. The free sessions are organised by Pennine Care NHS Trust and Oldham Council.
ENJOY and cuppa and a chat with a copper at a police surgery at flat 16, Lansdowne, Court, from 11am-noon, on Tuesday next week.
FIND out more about the historical parish of Prestwich-cum-Oldham at the next meeting of Chadderton Historical Society, on October 4, at Chadderton FC, Andrew Street, at 7.30pm.
RADCLYFFE School holds an open day for parents of Year 6 pupils from 6 to 9pm on October 3 and 9.45am to 11.15am on October 4.
THE annual pie and crumble sale takes place at St Matthew’s Church, Chadderton Hall Road, after the 8.30am and 10.30am services on Sunday, October 21. Proceeds in aid of church funds.
