CHADDERTON’S Christmas lights switch on takes place at 6.30pm on Friday. There will also be a Christmas market in the precinct from noon to 7pm, a lantern parade shortly after 6pm and fireworks at 7pm.
PUPILS who left Radclyffe School in the summer have been honoured at the secondary’s annual presentation evening at the Queen Elizabeth Hall. More than 200 teenagers were presented with certificates for their GCSE performance.
OLDHAM’S annual festival of light takes place at Newman College, Broadway, on Wednesday next week at 7pm. It aims to bring people from different faiths together to celebrate Christmas, Diwali, Chanukah and Eid-Ul-Adha. The evening includes a buffet, music and dance. Patchwork Parade, Q House, Russell Street, is holding a Christmas craft fair from 10am to 3pm on Saturday. Jewellery, pottery, home-made Christmas pudding, chutney, hand-made soap, stained glass and much more will be on sale.

ENJOY arts and crafts, games, face painting and a tombola at the Christmas Bonanza event at South Chadderton Youth Centre, Lancaster Street, from noon to 3pm on Saturday, December 15.
PARENTS and carers with babies under 18 months can join the baby days session at Chadderton Library from 10am to noon on Thursday, December 13.
