CHADDERTON man Gary Leese (49) is helping ex-Remploy workers and disabled people get back into employment with a new work club in Oldham.
It takes place on Thursdays until February 21 at the GMB Union Offices, Union Street, Oldham from 11am to 2pm. To take part call Gary on 07580 129377.
CHADDERTON North councillors are holding a ward surgery at Chadderton Wellbeing Centre, Burnley Street, from 11am to noon on Saturday. Their Chadderton South counterparts are holding a surgery at the same time at South Chadderton Methodist Church, Thompson Lane.
NEWMAN College, Broadway, holds a Year 10 parent consultation evening from 4.30 to 6.30pm on Tuesday next week. Monday’s Year 8 parents’ evening at Radclyffe School, Hunt Lane, which was cancelled due to bad weather, will be rescheduled.
WOMEN who want to improve their English and make new friends can take part in free sessions at Holly Grove children’s centre, Holly Grove, on Mondays. They run from 9.15 to 11am and a free creche is available. To book contact 0161-770 5384.
CHILDREN can enjoy a free pirate play session at Chadderton Library, Burnley Lane, from 10am to 11am on February 20.
THE Bower Hotel, Hollinwood Avenue, has applied for planning permission for a flagpole and two illuminated signs. A planning application has also been submitted for a single storey side and rear extension at 18 Irk Vale Drive, Chadderton.
CHILDREN can take part in free art, craft and sport in Coalshaw Green Park, Coalshaw Green Road, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Fridays. Under eights must be accompanied by an adult.
