THE search is on for the new Chadderton Prince and Princess. The lucky pair will be crowned at Chadderton Day in Foxdenton Park on July 13 and will switch on the town’s Christmas lights on November 29.

Applicants must live in Oldham and be a Year 4 pupil. Forms are available from Chadderton Wellbeing Centre, Burnley Street.

MEMBERS of Chadderton Historical Society will have a guided tour of Delph on Tuesday. Meet at the Victoria Street car park at 7pm to arrange transport.

CRAFT fans raised £952 for The Christie Hospital at a charity day at the Patchwork Parade shop, Q House, Russell Street. Owner Philomena Langford thanked everyone who made and donated items for the events and those who attended.

AGE UK Oldham is holding a table top and craft sale the Overs-60s Centre, Broadway, from 10am to 3pm on Sunday, June 30. Tables cost £7 and must be booked in advance by calling Maggie Hurley on 0161-621 6102.

RACHEL Aplin, from the force intelligence branch at Greater Manchester Police, is guest speaker at the next Chadderton Home Watch meeting on Tuesday, June 11. She will be talking about doorstep crime. All are welcome at Chadderton Wellbeing Centre, Burnbley Street, at 7.30pm.

THE newly-formed UKIP Oldham branch is holding a public meeting at Stanley Road Sports and Social Club at 8pm on Monday, June 10. Anyone can find out more about the party, becoming a prospective candidate or helping with campaigns.
