SUSAN Walker, head of the crime prevention team at Greater Manchester Police, is the guest speaker at the next Chadderton and District Home Watch meeting.
It takes place at Chadderton Wellbeing Centre, Burnley Street, at 7.30pm on July 9.
Members are also invited to attend a public meeting with Greater Manchester Police and Crime Commissioner Tony Lloyd at Oldham Civic Centre from 6.30pm to 9pm on July 2.
RADCLYFFE School pupil mixed poetry and the beautiful game when they visited the National Football Museum in Manchester.
They wrote and performed their own verses at the Premier League Reading Stars event, which aimed to boost boys’ literacy by encouraging them to find books that they enjoy reading.
SHOW some welly at the summer fair at Christ Church Primary School, Denton Lane, on July 6.
Welly throwing, face painting, hook-a-duck, a barbecue and a cafe will be among the attractions from 11am to 2pm.
ELDERY people and those with mobility problems can take part in new chair-based exercise classes at St Herbert’s Court, Wellington Street, which start on July 4.
It runs from 2.30pm to 3.15pm and aims to improve confidence, mobility, balance, flexibility, co-ordination and strength.

MILLS Hill PRIMARY School, Baytree Avenue, holds its summer fun day from noon to 4pm on July 4. Children’s wristbands for unlimited rides cost £5.
