Are you 100, or very nearly?

ANYONE living or born in Chadderton and aged around 100 is encouraged to get in touch to book their place as a guest of honour at this year’s celebration of 100 years of civic pride at Chadderton Town Hall.

The Chadderton Historical Society has teamed up with Chadderton Together for the event on Friday, November 15, which will see entertainment, a buffet and money being raised for local voluntary groups. Contact Christine Dennis at kddesign@ntlworld.com or tel 0161-2842275.

TEENAGERS can take part in a five-day sports camp with the Manchester Giants Basketball Club at Radclyffe Athletics Centre, starting on Monday. The camp is for 11 to 16-year-olds, costing £10 per day or £40 for the full five days. Call OCL on 0161-207 7000 to book.

FREE summer activities are available at Chadderton Hall Park every Friday during the school holidays. Children aged between eight and 20 are encouraged to come down from 1pm to 3pm for circus skills, sports and crafts.

BRING along your valuables to Chadderton Hall Park on Saturday, August 24, to have them marked by Chadderton North Neighbourhood Officers to ensure that they are traceable if stolen. Bikes, iPads, laptops and mobile phones can all be marked at the event, 1-3pm.

APFEL Lane Community Centre is holding summer activities for four to six-year-olds and over 12s from 3-5pm on Mondays and Fridays. Entry is £1.

A PLANNING application has been submitted by Salon 202 to change the use of a building on Fields New Road from a residential property to a shop.

POLICE officers will be holding a Home Watch community meeting on Tuesday, September 10, at Chadderton Wellbeing Centre from 7.30pm.
