BARE Trees junior pupils can take part in sports sessions at the Holly Grove school from 1.30pm to 2.30pm weekdays during the holidays. Children aged eight-16 can try out alternative sports at Noddy’s Field, Cathedral Road, 11am-1pm on Tuesdays.


VISIT the former St Edmunds’ Church, Falinge, with members of Chadderton Historical Society on Thursday, September 5. The Grade I listed building, which is usually closed to the public, combines gothic revival architecture with Masonic symbolism and has been described as Rochdale’s temple to Freemasonry.
