YEAR 13 English language pupils from North Chadderton School enjoyed a visit to the newly-refurbished Central Library and the historic John Rylands library in Manchester.
DRIVERS are being urged to fit tamper-proof screws after a number of licence plates were stolen from cars in the Chadderton area.
PATCHWORK Parade, Russell Street, is holding its third annual patchwork, quilting and craft fair at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on Saturday, March 28, from 10.30am until 3.30pm. It will include an exhibition of quilts, cushions, wall hangings and cloth dolls, as well as demonstrations, a raffle, tombola and refreshments. Admission is £2.50 (under-16s free). THE boccia team from The Radclyffe School, Hunt Lane, will compete at the Greater Manchester School Games after being crowned the Oldham Schools Sport champions.
ENJOY everything from Handel to Madness at a charity concert by the BMS singers at South Chadderton Methodist Church, Thompson Lane, from 7.45pm on Tuesday, March 31. Tickets cost £5 for adults, £3 concessions.
CHRIST Church School, Crawley Way, has been granted planning permission for three new classrooms. GGR group has also been given permission for a new training building at Broadway Business Park.
THE official opening of the new skatepark in Coalshaw Green Park takes place at 1pm on Saturday, March 21.
HELP keep Chadderton clean by taking part in a community litterpick on Saturday, March 21. Volunteers can meet at South Chadderton Methodist Church, Thompson Lane, at 9.45am.
