M62 crash causes 90-minute delays as queues stretch towards Rochdale
Drivers are facing delays of around 90 minutes on the M62 this morning after a crash involving a car and a van.
Two lanes are closed eastbound between junction 24 at Ainley Top and junction 25 at Brighouse, with queues reported back towards junction 21 near Rochdale.
The collision happened on the eastbound carriageway on Monday morning, 21 September.
National Highways said two of the three lanes were closed between junction 24 for Huddersfield and Halifax and junction 25 for Brighouse and Dewsbury.
The crash involved a van and a car.

There are residual delays of 90 minute and 8 miles of congestion. This should start to ease.

Statement from National Highways
"On the M62 eastbound there are delays of 90 minutes due to a collision closing 2 lanes (of 3) between J24 Ainley Top Interchange (Huddersfield, Halifax A629) and J25 Clifton Interchange (Brighouse, Dewsbury A644). The collision involved a van and a car.
"Due to the damage and the car being an EV the vehicles couldn't be cleared to the hard shoulder. Recovery is on scene removing the vehicles.
"There were no injuries as a result of the collision. If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey."
