First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO) has agreed a £23,000 deal to ensure 17 of its flats at its Eldon and Barker Street neighbourhoods receive a full jet wash.

The move by the housing association comes after customer feedback asked for a spruce up of communal areas, walkways and all bin stores.

The work needed specialist equipment, so FCHO brought in Rokjet to carry out the four-week-long campaign that started last month.

“This project is helping to improve the appearance and cleanliness of these communal areas,” said FCHO's head of neighbourhood care David Wrigley.

“We commissioned it in response to our customers saying to us they wanted to see these areas cleaner, especially the bin stores after a long hot summer.

“The initiative will also help us gather customer feedback on whether this type of service improves the appearance of their neighbourhood and whether it should be considered elsewhere in the future.”

Blocks to be cleaned are: Browbeck, Fellside, Stonecroft, Claymoor, Finchcroft, Monkswood, Oakenclough, Tentercroft, Barlow House, Wimpenny House, Eldon Precint, Bradley House, Millrise, Hague House, Heywood House, Parr House, Potter House, Purdy House, Stott House and Wild House.
