Heyside Pre-School is preparing to celebrate a remarkable milestone as it marks its 60th birthday this November, organisers are inviting past and present members of the community to help make the occasion special.
The anniversary celebration will take place on Saturday 21 November 2026, from 12pm to 4pm at St Mark's Church Hall, Heyside, where families, former pupils, staff and local residents are all welcome to join in the festivities.
As part of the celebrations the pre-school is launching an appeal for photographs, memories and stories from the past six decades, hoping to create a display showcasing the pre-school's rich history and the generations of children and families who have been part of its journey since it first opened its doors.
The team is keen to hear from anyone who attended the pre-school, worked there, volunteered, or has fond memories of their time connected to the setting.
Samantha Clarke, Pre-School Manager said "We would love to bring together as many memories as possible to celebrate the incredible community that has supported Heyside Pre-School over the past 60 years.
"Every photograph and story helps tell the story of our pre-school and the families who have been part of it."
Anyone wishing to share photographs can send them via WhatsApp or text message to 07305 410161, or by email to [email protected]. Written memories and anecdotes are also warmly welcomed.
The anniversary event promises to be a fun-filled family day featuring entertainment for children and special guest appearances, including Rumi, alongside opportunities to reconnect with old friends, staff and families.
All are welcome to attend and help celebrate the pre-school's longstanding contribution to local families.
