Emmaus Mossley’s Christmas Bazaar will take place on Saturday 14 November at the charity’s Secondhand Superstore. The event aims to bring people together to share some seasonal joy whilst raising vital funds to support people affected by homelessness.
Emmaus Mossley is a charity that empowers people to overcome homelessness for good.
Whilst resident at Emmaus, each person is supported to build their confidence, self-esteem, skills and work experience to achieve their goals.
Jimmy, one of the residents supported by Emmaus Mossley, said: “I’m really looking forward to welcoming people to Emmaus for this special event. We’re keen to create a warm atmosphere within our Secondhand Superstore and to share the love with everyone over the Christmas period.”
Items available at the event will include a wide range of decorations, pre-loved baubles, reusable trees, lights, secret Santa gifts, presents for under a fiver, vintage goods, unusual gifts, festive linen and affordable furniture for those extra guests.
In the run up to the event, Emmaus is appealing for donations of good quality decorations, festive items and unused toys and gifts from last year. Every item donated to and sold by Emmaus helps to sustain their 26-bedroom community home and the life-changing support provided to their residents.
Hazel Hodkinson, Retail Manager at Emmaus Mossley, said: “Our family-friendly festive charity event and sale is one that our community looks forward to every year. We’ll have lots of seasonal items for sale, along with music from a brass band, fun activities, delicious food, and a visit from Father Christmas!
“If you’re looking for something unique, want to shop more sustainably, on a limited budget, or keen to support a good cause this Christmas, be sure to visit Emmaus Mossley.”
Emmaus Mossley’s Christmas Bazaar charity event will take place on Saturday 14 November, 10am-4pm, at the Emmaus Mossley Secondhand Superstore, Longlands Mill, Queen Street, Mossley, OL5 9AH. Festive food, cakes and drinks will be available on site throughout the day.
