Visitors can tour the Didsbury hospice between 10am and 4pm to see its facilities and learn how donations support its work.
Members of the hospice care team will lead guided tours throughout the day.
Visitors will be able to see refurbished children’s bedrooms, sensory and cinema rooms, painted murals and upgraded flats where parents can stay while their child receives respite care.
Francis House supports more than 435 families across Greater Manchester who have children or young adults with life-shortening or life-threatening conditions.
Its services include respite care, homecare, community support and physical, emotional and psychological support for the whole family.
Sharon Doodson, director of care at Francis House, said “We rely on the generosity of the community to help fund the services that we can offer to the families.”
She added “We want to be able to continue to support these families and anyone coming to visit us on open day, will see just how important their support is to help keep us going.”
The hospice says its annual running costs are £5.8 million, with most funding coming from charitable donations.
Merchandise and refreshments will be available on the day, alongside information about forthcoming fundraising events.
No children or families will be resident during the open day.
Francis House is at 390 Parrswood Road, Didsbury, M20 5NA. Further information is available by calling 0161 443 2200 or visiting the Francis House website.
