Delph Senior Citizens Welfare Association

Intro

services for senior citizens (aged 60 years and over) of Delph village; 1. A weekly luncheon club (cost £2 for a 3 course meal and tea/coffee). 2. A Christmas party. 3. Summer day trip. 4. Coffee mornings and other social events. We liaise with the local churches in Delph, and keep an eye, generally, on the welfare of the senior citizens - e.g hospital visiting. We have a properly-constituted committee of 6 members and about 10 other helpers. We all work voluntary. We raise funds by holding coffee mornings, quizzes, sponsored events and by soliciting donations from local businesses, Saddleworth Parish Council, Oldham Area Committee, the Rotary Club etc. Almost all our helpers are over 60 themselves, some are over 80. Anyone living in Delph, aged 60 years or over is eligible to attend, also those with connections with the village.
