Police investigating after reports of a man with a gun in Oldham

A man has been arrested after reports of a man with a gun in Oldham.
Police were called to Honeywell Lane, near to Ashton Road, shortly before 8.25am on Friday.
Officers attended the scene and a pellet gun was recovered.
The road was closed in both directions while police dealt with the incident, causing buses to be redirected and heavy traffic in the area.
A 45-year-old man was detained on suspicion of possessing a firearm and he remains in custody for questioning.
Police say their enquiries are ongoing and are appealing for information.
