Elderly man hurt after colliding with tram in Oldham

Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 7pm on Monday (4th March) following reports of a collision.
Greater Manchester Police later confirmed that a man in his 80s had been hit by a Metrolink Tram and suffered injuries although they didn’t think they were serious.
The area was cordoned off for several hours while police and paramedics treated the man, however the cordon was lifted soon afterwards.

As a result of the incident services on the Oldham and Rochdale line were badly impacted while a number of bus routes accepted tram tickets for those passengers who couldn’t get to their destination because of the incident.
The tram network returned to normal shortly after the collision had been dealt with and is reporting a good services across the Oldham and Rochdale lines this morning (Tuesday 5th March).
