Investigation launched after woman is raped in Oldham

It was shortly before 2.35am when officers were called to Huddersfield Road in Oldham to reports that a woman had been attacked.
A cordon was put in place and remains, on Barry Street, while investigation work is carried out.
Officers are also understood to be supporting the woman, who is believed to be in her 30s.
In a statement to the Oldham Chronicle, Greater Manchester Police have said: “Shortly before 2.35am on Friday 5 April 2019, police were called to Huddersfield Road in Oldham to reports that a woman had been raped.
There is a scene in place on Barry Street while investigation work is carried out and officers are currently supporting the woman in her 30s.
Enquiries are ongoing.
