Third arrest over fight outside Oldham pub

Police have arrested a third man after a large fight outside an Oldham pub on Easter Sunday led the death of 24-year old Joe O’Brien.
It was on Wednesday evening (24th April) when officers detained a 21-year old man on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
He remains in custody for questioning.
The arrest comes after police were called to the pub on Sunday (21st April) at around 3am.
A man – who was aged 21 at the time of the incident - was treated in hospital for stab wounds.
Another man, 24-year-old Joe O’Brien from Blackley, died after also being stabbed.
Two men, 22-year old Daniel Kamara, from Beswick Drive, and a 17-year old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been charged with assault and violent disorder in connection with the incident.
They’re both due to appear at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on 22nd May 2019.
