Investigation launched after the attempted rape of a woman

The victim was dragged down by two men while a third tried to rape her
Greater Manchester Police have launched an investigation and are asking people for information after a woman was the victim of an attempted rape in Tameside during the early hours of Monday morning (22nd April).
It’s understood the attack happened between 3 and 4am when the victim was walking through a ginnel linking Underwood Street to Chapel Street in Dukinfield when she was approached by three men.
Two of the men dragged the woman, aged in her 30s, to the ground. One of the men sexually assaulted her before attempting to rape her.
The three men then left the scene.
One of the men is described as having dark skin and was wearing dark clothing.
No further descriptions are available.
Police are appealing for information and witnesses to come forward.
Detective Constable Sajid Pervaiz of Greater Manchester Police’s Tameside District said: “Specialist officers are supporting the victim of this awful attack while we attempt to find those responsible.
“Were you in the area around the time or have any information that can assist us?
“If so, please get in touch as soon as possible.”
