Fire crews tackled the blaze during the early hours of Wednesday morning
Fire crews from the Oldham area have pulled a man from a burning building during the early hours of Wednesday morning (1st May).
It’s thought the man, believed to be in his 20s, was taken to hospital to be assessed after being rescued from the derelict building in Oldham Town Centre.
Firefighters from Chadderton were called to the large property on Union Street during the early hours of Wednesday morning following reports of a fire at the building.
A spokesman for the Fire Service confirmed crews were called to the building and used four breathing apparatus and two hose reels to tackle the blaze.
It’s not clear if the man had been squatting there at the time of the fire or had managed to get into the building.
