One person injured after tram hits car in Tameside

The collision caused the line to be blocked between Ashton and Droylsden
Metrolink trams in Tameside have been stopped after one of them collided with a car n Friday morning (31st May) in Audenshaw.
It was just after 10.45am when reports came in of a collision between the tram and an Audi A6, witnesses have reported the crash happened close to the BP garage on Droylsden Road.
It’s caused trams between Ashton and Droylsden to be stopped while emergency services deal with the incident.
One person is understood to have suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash.
Due to a road traffic collision, there are NO services operating between Droylsden and Ashton. Tickets and passes can be used on bus services 216, 217, 230 & 231. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Service started running again shortly after midday but were experiencing minor delays for much of the afternoon.
