Police responded to reports that the front door of the house was on fire
An incident in Tameside during the early hours of this morning has led police to launching an investigation over a suspected arson attack.
It was shortly before 12.35am this morning (Monday 10th June) when the emergency services were called to the house on Byron Avenue following reports that the front door of the property was on fire.
When they arrived, they found the door a blaze, it was put out by Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service but it has caused significant damage to the door and the porch area.
As a result, an investigation has now been launched into the circumstances surrounding the incident, with police appealing for witnesses to come forward.
